Skillset

If you look at the various skill sets out there, some people are great coders while others are phenomenal designers. If you want to hire someone with a good design background, they probably don’t need to know how to code. However, if you are looking to create something innovative then having both a technical and creative mind will always help.

Hire Developers Who Have The Right Skills

Technical Skills

Whether you are hiring someone for coding, graphic design, marketing, or anything else; a person with technical skills is valuable. You may not need to hire someone with extensive programming knowledge, but knowing how to use the best software programs and applications is almost a prerequisite. Even though a developer may not be a designer, you still need them to build what you envision.

Creativity

No matter what field a person works in, creativity is everything. It is hard to keep track of all the different things a person creates. Whether it is art, music, writing, etc., a person with a creative mindset will work harder than anyone else. When creating something, you need to constantly think outside the box and develop ideas that aren’t just based on what you already know. Hire developers who have the right skills

Experience

You can find a lot of people who claim to be experts in their field, but experience really matters. No matter how much someone knows about a certain subject, it doesn’t mean they are going to do a great job. A person who has been working in a particular field for years will understand the industry more than someone who is just starting out.

Flexibility

This is a big one. If a company hires someone with very little flexibility, they could potentially end up losing money. Even if a person isn’t hired full-time, they should be flexible enough to pick up new projects every now and again. Being able to take time off when necessary is very important.

Self-Motivation

When it comes down to it, no one likes doing things they dislike. If a person is self-motivated, they will do whatever it takes to make sure that they succeed. While no one enjoys being told what to do, if someone is self-motivated they won’t mind taking direction. They will also work harder than anyone else because they know they are capable of achieving success.

Persistence

Everyone makes mistakes, but persistence helps prevent these mistakes from becoming costly ones. If you hire someone who is persistent, they will never give up until they achieve their goal. Many times, this means learning from past mistakes and repeating them over and over again until they get it right.

Growers and Developers

Growers need to hire people with knowledge about the cannabis industry, agriculture, business management, marketing, and law. These individuals will bring experience to the team, know how to communicate effectively with others, and possess a work ethic. Also, they should be able to understand the regulatory requirements associated with running a cannabis operation and comply with them at all times. In addition, these professionals should be willing to learn about cannabis cultivation practices and the various ways to improve yields. Finally, they should be able perform at least some tasks without supervision.

Technicians

Technicians play a critical role in any company’s success. There are many aspects of any cannabis business, including operations (grow room), logistics, quality control (lab testing), customer service, branding, packaging, etc. A technician should be able to troubleshoot issues and problems and perform basic maintenance tasks. This person should be willing to get their hands dirty and work with little supervision.

Salespeople

A salesperson’s job is to provide information to customers and educate them about products. In addition, they should be able sell both retail and wholesale products. They should be knowledgeable about the legal status of cannabis products and their distribution channels. Lastly, they must be willing to help consumers find what they want.

Lawyers

Lawyers play a key role in ensuring everyone complies with the laws and regulations governing cannabis businesses. From licensing applications to contracts, lawyers must ensure everything is done correctly. They should also be familiar with state-level regulations regarding medical marijuana and/or adult use and recreational cannabis legalization. Additionally, they should be prepared to answer questions about the legality of specific activities related to the cannabis industry or advice on potential pitfalls.

Accountants and Bookkeepers

An accountant or bookkeeper handles financial records and ensures accuracy and compliance of banking transactions. Cannabis businesses tend to deal with cash transactions and therefore accountants and bookkeepers must be skilled in finance and accounting. They should also be prepared to prepare tax returns and issue 1099 forms when required.

Marketing Professionals

Marketing professionals are responsible for developing strategies and implementing plans to promote and advertise products and services. Many businesses rely heavily on social media platforms to spread awareness and garner new clients. Social media marketers must be adept at writing content for websites and blogs, using search engine optimization techniques to increase visibility, managing online advertising campaigns, and promoting events.

Human Resources Professionals

Human resources professionals hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff members. All employees should receive training and proper instructions and should be supervised closely while performing duties.
